Hydroplanes and ekranoplanes are aircrafts which take off and land on water. Such aircrafts can be divided into flying boats, amphibians and float planes. Flying boats and amphibians are equipped for landing on water with "step" - the lower body of such aircraft has the shape of boat. Floating plane plastic models can be built specifically or simply converted from the ordinary planes by installing one or more float-ballonets for providing buoyancy. To "water floating" airplanes also can be conditionally included ekranoplanes - aircraft using "ground effect" for flight - compressed air reflected from any level surface, usually from water.
