The Pfalz D.III was a German fighter of WWI, produced by Pfalz Flugzeugwerke in 1917. The type had good basic flying characteristics and was one of most elegant designs of its time. Overall there were 260 planes produced. The D.III equipped numerous successful units, including the famous Flying Circus of Manfred von Richthofen. Some machines of this type remained in service until the last few months of the WWI.
