Nieuport 28c1 was the WWI fighter with 160 hp Monosoupape 9N engine and classic biplane shape. The majority of the 300 machines built were transferred to the newly created US Army Air Force. Well-known American aces Eddie Rickenbacker, Douglas Campbell, Alan Winslow, Raoul Lufbery and many others scored numerous victories flying the Nieuport 28c1. After the war this aircraft was used as a training aircraft, and by the mid 1920s all machines of this type, which had survived the war, were sold to air circuses and to Hollywood.
