Grumman JOV-1A Mohawk - multipurpose twin-engine turboprop aircraft of the US Army, built at the end of the 1950s. Its main tasks were photoreconnaissance, artillery spotting, communication and air support of ground units. The aircraft could take off from short and rough strip airfields in any weather conditions. For army support the JOV-1A Mohawk could be armed with guns, bombs or missiles on pylons under the wing. The OV-1A and JOV-1A Mohawk took part in the Vietnam War. In total 64 of the OV-1A version were built. |
