Felixstowe F.2A – World War I flying boat designed by British naval officer John Cyril Porte on the basis of development by the American Curtiss company. Planes of this type were widely used during 1917-1918 against German submarines and zeppellins, and also as patrol and reconnaissance aircraft. The reliability of its design, excellent flying performance, and good defences against the adversary's fighters were indisputable advantages of the F.2A. A total of 173 F.2A boats of early and late versions were built before the end of the war.
